Favorite Subject
My favorite subject in my first junior college was political science, but in the second year thought it was quite boring. I don’t know why but the statistics of the elections, the articles, the amendments and the rights the duties which interested me so much started irritating me in the second year. On the contrary economics was the subject I hated a lot in first year but in the second year I just loved studying it.
With a sole mind I tried to find the reasons for liking or disliking a subject. The prime reason I could think of was the professors; sometimes when a particular subject is boring, professors try different techniques to make the teaching process more effective and interesting. However when an interesting subject is thought in an ineffective and boring manner, students drop their interest in the subject.
Students also find some subjects interesting just because they like the subject itself, for instance- some students are fascinated by the poetry, so they like literature. Some students like to have a deep insight on the historical facts so they like history. Some students just love the chemical equations so they love chemistry.
Students sometimes like a subject just because they are really good at it. My friend Alex was really good at solving mathematical equations and thus simply loved mathematics; but couldn’t get through latitudes and longitudes and thus hated geography.
Some just generate the subject of their choice into a hobby, for instance my elder brother Max loved drawing since childhood, his liking for the subject made him keener in the classes which resulted in his enormous growth as painter and now he is doing great as a painter. On the contrary his friend Richard is lawyer and isn’t doing well as he betrayed his hobby of writing poetry, he would have made a good career in literature field.
Success is the key word in today’s world, success generates money and money generates status and fame. The race to acquire the top most position has thus started. But in order to acquire success, one should have a sound base of field he is in. There might be several for liking or disliking a subject. But pursuing a career in the subject of our choice definitely helps achieving a good career and simultaneously success we are in. I think the same thing worked out for my brother Max.
